Rim to Rim Grand Canyon Hike Lottery
Each person who registers has a namecard placed in the backpack at the Lottery Party.
People registering before December 15, 2009 will have 2 namecards in backpack.
Party attendees will take turns drawing names out of the backpack.
Each name drawn will receive 2 places on the roster until 12 of the 16 available spaces have been filled. The rest of the names will be drawn to determine the order of the waiting list. The drawn name HAS TO BE one of the people that use the roster spot. There is NO TRANSFERING of roster spots. If a person cancels, the first person on the waiting list claims the place. You can decline your spot but not transfer it. For example, if your spouse’s name has been drawn and then your name is drawn, you can fill your spouse’s second spot and decline to use another 2 spots if you would like, but you can not specify someone in particular to use your places. Your name can only be placed on the roster once, even if it is drawn again.
The additional 4 places will be auctioned to highest bidders after the participant list and waiting list has been determined. The auction will take place later (i.e. E-bay), not at the lottery party.
Registrants DO NOT have to attend the lottery party to get a spot, it is fun, though.
